Transformative Employment Opportunities for people with an intellectual disability in Local Government Authorities
catalyst training & disability services has received funding from the NDIS for an Information, Linkages and Community (ILC) grant to develop employment opportunities for people with disabilities over the next twelve months.
This project will work with 2 Local Government Authorities (LGAs) to design and implement a replicable model of recruitment, support and paid employment for adults with intellectual disability. The project will operate at a deep level of cultural change, developing the capacity of the LGAs to support and retain employees with Intellectual Disability.
Each Local Government will identify and commit to 3 paid positions and catalyst training & disability services will offer advice, training and support to ensure the success of employees with an intellectual disability.
A toolbox of resources will be developed to assist all Local Government Areas to recruit and retain employees with an intellectual disability.
